Team Consulting
Teams present as complex systems which if not functioning well are likely to be overwhelmed with competing internal and external struggles. Development and change can only happen with individual members being able to reflect, develop awareness and an ability to identify and agree a collective identity. I will invite team members to examine the overall picture of their organisation, looking at the corporate and team culture, exploring views about the way people think about their roles, the processes in place to facilitate communication and decision making, and the influence this has on individuals and team functioning.
I will emphasise the importance of a shared responsibility from all members to develop and participate within a planned and safe framework. Through a range of reflective exercises, psychodrama practice and creative ways to engage in dialogue the team will be able to develop a shared appreciation of different members that make up the team and the role each member brings. We will explore ideas of management, examine different skills and expectations and peoples experiences and values.
I will encourage discussions about strategies to avoid conflicts, unhelpful communication patterns, taking risks and perspectives on difference and the importance of being able to own and learn from mistakes.
A team that is able to agree shared goals and recognise their role in achieving those goals is far more like to remain focussed, fulfilled and achieve their goals. Dialogue is likely to be less problem focussed and reflect inclusion and creativity. Objectives of team consultancy is to move team members from a place where instead of just seeing people and individual problems they see connections and relationships and are able to maximise potential to navigate interpersonal dynamics and wider organisational structures and challenges.
